Up Close...

So its been a little while since my last post...
Last week was a busy work week, and I was also busy prepping for my first camping trip! (That's right, I had never been camping before!)  It was actually an overnight white-water rafting/camping weekend up in the Adirondacks for a friend's 30th birthday. What a way to try out camping...it was the real deal! We actually slept right by the river, which was amazing, and our view looked like this...

I love living in a big city and can't imagine living anywhere else sometimes, but I also need these little nature escapes once in a while. Priorities seem a lot different when you have no computer or phone access. We had the most gorgeous weather and a great group of people to camp out with. I tried my best to document the weekend, but since most of my best pictures were taken with a disposable water-proof camera (on the raft), I have to wait for them to be developed. Look for a full-story post coming soon!

In the meantime check out these up-close shots of a butterfly that was 'posing' for me on our little "beach" area by the river...

I had so many favorite parts of the trip, but even something small like this made my whole weekend complete! Check back soon for more up-close pics of the Hudson River and our rafting experience!
