For most of us, Labor Day weekend tends to mark the unofficial end-of-summer. I was happy to celebrate this 'last' summer weekend on a camping trip up in the Catskills, with these lovely friends pictured here...
The smiles say it all - we had a great time camping, hiking, and swimming for 3 nights and 2 beautiful-weather days. The theme of the trip seemed to be waterfalls for day (we went to check out 3 different ones - 2 in public state parks and 1 off-the-beaten-path), and food for night! We figured it was ok to fill up at dinner with grilled kebobs, steak, chicken, hamburgers and hot-dogs (plus corn, veggies, & potatoes), since we were so active during the day! I didn't capture pictures of the food on this trip, since I was focusing my lens on the magnificent nature surrounding us...
Thanks goes to Tracey for organizing the trip!...
I have a feeling we'll do it again next year!
Taz and I have a few more mini-trips planned for the Fall, but in the meantime I'm taking some time to reflect on the adventures we had this summer - a family reunion in Missouri, surreal sunsets, a picnic in the park, white water rafting, a hipster-hotel stay, playing in the mud, and a birthday celebration that got me feeling that 28 is going to be my best year yet!
(P.S. Did you catch what I packed for this trip? Check out my list here.)
